Miscellaneous Information
Born 18 August 1923 in Sussex, New Brunswick. He had two bothers - Bryant Alfred and Charles William. His father worked as a Painter. Andrew attended Sussex Corner school between 1929 and 1938 followed by Sussex High School, 1938 to 1941. He also took an Aero Engine Mechanic course. On leaving school he worked as a Hardware Clerk for J A Watson, between July and October 1941. |
Andrew enlisted at Moncton on the 9th February 1942. After early training he embarked for England on the 8th of April 1943 arriving U.K. on the 17th. After 3 PRC he attended 1(O) AFU, 28 OTU, and 1667 Conversion Unit before joining 550 Squadron on 29th January 1944. |
His hobby was Model aeroplanes and sports, hockey, softball and soccer. He served three years with High School Cadets. |
Andrew Stockton's bother, Charles, and fellow crew member Victor Mate's sister, Peggie, married in 1946. |
